Last Friday I photographed the wedding of Abike & Kabiru. The ceremony took place at the Hampstead Garden Suburb Free Church, and the reception at Forty Hall in Enfield. The wedding planner was Mayowa of Debra Mai and she did an excellent job. Special thanks from me go to Pastor Douglas. Thank you for being so welcoming, and so accomodating about the photography, it was a pleasure.

What can I say about the couple ? Obviously in love, and so happy to be united. Sometimes little extra things will happen that make me go aaahhh...like Kabiru's biggest worry when I was leaving his house was to make sure I had an umbrella for Abike. Just in case it rains, and she gets wet and her hair or make up get ruined...how sweet is that?

As per any wedding day,  expect the unexpected...we ran behind schedule so when we finally arrived at Forty Hall and it was time for the couple portraits it was virtually dark....and raining. Thankfully, I work well under pressure, and with the combination of adrenaline, having the right equipment for the job, and using alternative light sources (like headlights!), we pulled it off. In fact I am delighted with the couple portraits, as they turned out so different.

Abike & Kabiru, I wish you all the best for the future, and hope to see you when the babies come along (shameless plug for my newborn portraits at www.mariamurray.co.uk)!

And talking about plugs I think it would be rude not to mention that Kabiru owns KBespoke a company which makes tailored suits for men. His suit was made by Kbespoke, and it looked like it fitted very well. Being a basketball player Kabiru is very tall, so a bespoke suit is a perfect solution!

Last week I shot an engagement session for Vicky & Nigel, who are getting married in exactly one month in Brighton. They are both photographers themselves, Nigel actually photographs weddings, so the pressure was on! Nigel & Vicky liked an idea of an edgy, somewhat gritty look to their images, and taking in some of the surrounding environment. We went for a little walk from Borough Market to the Tate gallery and here is a preview of what I shot on the day...

a curious creature at the Tate...

Nigel LOVES coffee!

yep this actual grafitti...
